Re: what a lovely post! you brought a smile to this old grouch!
LOL, Muley. I don't think you're an old grouch at all. A terrible singer, maybe, but not a grouch, LOL!

Thanks, auslander
Yep, I've done the same with their shadows. Sometimes scaring myself too, LOL!

You're right - I kept some of that child in me. I think alot of us here in Blogit have done the same, you included! Aren't we lucky?

I can see by your posts that you are a tree-lover too. Poor Jasper. I would feel exactly the same way. Trees are such majestic things; they make me feel safe and secure, and give me confidence that time continues...they are proof of past, present, future.

Thank you, Nautikos
Sometimes I miss the innocence of the child I used to be. There is still magic though, and that's a good thing. Hopefully your memories are the same. (This may appear twice - the system flushed me as I was replying to your comment).

Re: Nothing like starting the day with a bit of magic realism...
It sure starts off the day on the right foot, Pat-B. I love trees. You can imagine how I felt during the ice-storm here, when we could hear the trees cracking, then falling, one after the other. It was horrible.

It was important to me, when renovating my house, that my bedroom window look out on my trees. You're right - it's a beautiful beginning to each day.

Very nice! It reminded me of the time at the cottage of my own childhood when, late at night, I would look at the shadows of the trees on the bedroom's wall and imagine a whole world out there on the wall.... I love trees, they are so restful and peaceful.

What an awesome memory, i.e., flashback! I love it that you indirectly carried an important part of your childhood into adulthood! Just so inspiring and serene! sam

Great post! I love it. Being a tree-lover I always feel like a friend has died. Jasper died and had to be removed removed from my nieces property recently because it became diseased. It was a huge old oak with heavy branches spreading over the house. I know it was necessary, but nothing looks the same there now.

Nothing like starting the day with a bit of magic realism...
I love your characterizations about the trees.
