Ah, the endless battle of pooh. We tried cloth for awhile, but the diaper service was more expensive than disposables, and they used a ton of water to wash. Had to do a balance: Lots of water, or landfill?
It's funny, where I used to live in Michigan, a "chook" was a special kind of knitted hat from Finland I guess. I was picturing you chasing a red speckled hat around the house, LOL

LOL yes they may be affectionate but hard to potty train.

Chooks will do that unfortunately they can't be potty trained.
