I was so glad to read that you were going to thank them whenever you wanted! It is simply their opinion, do not allow it to affect you! You are doing everything with fine rationale and just answer to yourself! You are going to be fine because your heart and actions are in the right place. sam

Don't worry about it too much, maybe in the end of it all, they're just teasing you
And it's wonderful the way it is with children & parents and children with siblings, I was surprised the other day to discover an issue between my mom, aunts, and uncle with my Grandfather, and they're in their 30's, 40's and even 50's; so no matter how older we grow the situation is always the same with siblings and parents, so, again, I wouldn't read into it so much. Take care

I wish you the best with this, and I think you should
do what you feel is best. Maybe deep down they
feel guilty for not being more affectionate. Who knows?
But I would try not to worry about it too much.

It's always a shock to find that siblings are questioning motives. It is their problem. If your mom and dad are enjoying your attention keep it up.
