Rector - It's good to keep yourself occupied...retirement is just a working holiday I think.

"retirement" does not entail rocking on the porch anymore. It's more like a second chapter in life! Mal

I recall a long discussion my parents had over this very thing:
Do you swash a buckler, or buckle a swash? They never decided. And as far as I know, they never cared quite enough to look it up--as they always told me to do!

Our dear retired Parson is finding retirement just as busy as ever....told
you so........Actually a writer never retires which is great because it is great to always have something to do through the cold winter and something more important than house work.
Oh the paint color,I cover my walls with pictures paintings and pretty china plates; all sorts of interesting beautiful and fun things. I don't like painting. I figure if the wall is covered I don't need to paint. Wiley is quite impressed with my concept!!! Good luck to dear you and Ed in everything that you do from now on.

obsolete definition for swashbuckling:
swash=to make the noise of a sword striking a buckler--small round shield as opposed to the large shield for whole-body protection
(Psalm 91:3-5:
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; KJV)
Now days, we mostly just think of swashbuckling as having to do with pirates.
