Your posts
for this Holiday are packed with such interesting information and insights!  It is so sad about the fishing villages once such vibrant places.  It really is sad...

names tell the history

It seems one way pioneers and colonists had of dealing with homesickness was to name their new home for their old home.  So "Inverness" speaks of the Scots you mention, and Truro suggests folk out of Cornwall. So does mining, come to think of it.

Glad to have a ride-along on this journey!

I really, really enjoy your travel blogs.  I love our natural world, the history of places and the cultures of people in the byways of life.  My favorite indoor pastime is searching out places on the internet and learning about them--well that and reading a good book.
