The last one is steeped in its own mystic! A painter could put their own touch in it and I think it would be superb! sam

Vogue
Very interesting! Those tiles are beautiful. The St. Jacob's shells are our scallops, of course...

Thanks a lot for the tip meine Liebe! I'll have a look but unfootunately, with Uni starting next week, I'm afraid I won't have enough time to finish a book by then. Viel Glück to you, though! I think that you and sinome should get together to make a book: you supply the pics, sinome writes the poems! what'd'ya think?

Beautiful pictures, Vogue (and beautiful poem too, Simone.). If you don't win the Gecko prize, I'm sure you will do very well at it. Your posts and pictures are always so interesting!! Good luck with it!

Vogue - travel writers
Once again interesting information and wonderful photos. Thank you for the link to Gecko -  not a possibility this year; however no doubt there will be future offers. Good luck! I hope you win first prize. Thanks for your visit.

Re:
Sinome, my great poet, I can´t belive you can write a poem like this just at the drop of a hat, or rather a glimpse at a picture. What talent!! Thanks so much.

Wow I loved that picture of the lonely castle  next to the mighty tree...I  am no paintor but... this is how I felt it:

Overlooking a green valley
stood  a small but fierce castle,
tall,  strong, but oh so  lonely,
empty and aching for those who built it
and needing repairs quite badly,
its graying stones proudly defied
the merciless passage of time.
Though  alone, it did not cry,
as Ivy slowly its  walls climbed,
for castles are made of stone
and never, never,  sigh or moan.
For many centuries it stood alone
bathed in  Galicia's bright sun
until by the grace of G-d
right next to where he had stood
a little seed into a big tree grew.
Now they both enjoy the view
of the fertile valley down below
together the old and the new
standing fast to the winds that blow.

Wonderful post my friend  I tell you you should go into photography... Your eye for finding subjects is amazing  xoxo
