A post to my heart, and yes, I feel for you. The crying babies are a pest and the kicking ones are even worse. How, after that ordeal, you managed to post at all, leaves me open mouthed with admiration. Take a good rest in the country house and put your feet up. The swelling will subside after a day or two, I know!!!

What a trip! Sounds like you were in the nursery section. Why didn't you try singing lullabies? LOL

Re: Auslander
I don't think that putting them in the cargo bay is "really" the answer, but boy, did I feel like it Naut!
And as for each ache, I think that parents should be advised to buy a pacifier (a sucker) before departure: it's the same as chewing, thus equalizing the air pressure in the ears and it seems to calm down and reassure kids and frankly, with that in the mouth they can't scream as much!LOL Which was the problem of that crying babe.

Welcome home! And I know what you mean about crying babies on a flight, having been exposed to similar torture at times! Why can't they just put them into the the cargo bay?

Auslander. Nope - I'm with you here. I love babies, but not on a 14 hour crying jag! I can imagine the parents felt as harassed as you did. Some children get an immediate ear ache when flying - I imagine the poor thing was in pain. Sorry your flight back was so terrible. What a way to end a great vacation!
