We switch on the news at 6.00 o 11.00 pm and are delighted when the announcer begins with a mundane story about nothing.  That means nobody has been killed, and we can switch off the news again.

Azur

I do not think of Michael Jackson's death as a 'shared moment', at least it wasn't for me - particularly since I was neither terribly fond of his music, nor of the man...

And Sarah Palin's (possible) divorce is another thing that leaves me cold. The private lives of 'celebrities' have never interested me - maybe I am missing the requisite gene...

I think it is smoke and mirrors! It might even be a ploy to keep her name floating! I doubt she would have a chance to even get the Rebublican nomination! She just needs to fade away! I got your mail and I will answer soon, but in the interim, of course I do! sam

I loved this blog, probably wish I had wrote it. I don't think Aussies

care somuch about celebrs. unless they play sport. Then when they'redone,we are done with them. I like to live quietly to write to walk to love. I am sorry if the Palins dodivorce....cos divorce is horrible.

Love to you dear one.

I'll bet I'm not the only one who wonders what's really up with
that Palin girl. If you were going to write an adventuress, a shark of a woman who never stops circling and feeding, you couldn't find a better character base. I think the GOP would have to lose its mind before it would try to make her a candidate for any office. Too easy a target, and too much time between now and then to dig up every teaspoon of mud to sling. As for Michael, fame killed him. Whatever the pill or substance, it was fame. I wish they'd let him rest, and that the children would find a safe harbor.

It would be nice to be unified on better topics than the latest scandals
and gossip, but such is the world of headline news and entertainment.

public figures are so overrated they aren't...
i think it's sad when people get divorced...who ever it is...it is tough on anyone...

to me Mr Jackson died a long time ago...

he will be a cute lil kid to me in my memory and not the figure that pop culture molded

and I do thank him for his musical contributions...music is such a huge source of happiness for so many people...

Azur thanks for the thought provokes and pokes =)

Perhaps people are so starved for interest in their own lives, they have to seek it in the dramas of others.  Our world is so glamoured, we can hardly tell what is real and worthwhile from what is shiny and attractive but essentially valueless.
