I’ve been know to shuffle on over to the computer in the middle of the night and type out a line that popped into my mind because I know darn well when I wake up I’ll never remember it….

a journal.
Get yourself a journal, keep it by your bed and if you suddenly have a great idea, write it down before closing your eyes. In fact carry the journal where ever you go. I did a writing course a couple of years ago and my teacher advised the class to do this, since then I write a journal everyday and are always jotting down ideas, feelings and prety much everything. I fully understand the frustration of forgetting something worthwhile.
