Perhaps I've missed out on something.

MJ was acquitted in 2005. When a person is acquitted aren't they deemed innocent? Was there some other pending indictment? If not, why can't people just show the usual respect due to the dead and to their mourners?
P.S. I do not care for his music, but that is a totally different kettle of fish.

I would remember him for the pleasure he gave to my generation with his dance and music!

I agree with you.....
Sadly, Michael appears to have had some very serious psychological issues but there can be no doubt of his immense talent and musical contributions. He may well have been one of the last great musical pioneers in our lifetime! Seems to me the more brilliant an individual the more the likelihood of some other mental/emotional deficiets that sets them apart from the accepted standards of current society--they are different from the "norm"....they are better at what they do than anyone else in the world!!! Guess perhaps the line between brillance and insanity is very thin!
