Good luck!!  It can be hard getting rid of some things for any price.  I can't help but to think of Maria from The Sound of Music, when the Captain is looking over her shabby clothes.  She tells him all of her worldly goods were given to the poor.

"What about this one," he asks, referring to the sack of a dress she's wearing.

"Oh, the poor didn't want this one!" she says.

That is quite a job. Good Luck to you and I hope it's profitable .. I'd be there to buy if you were closer.

We went to our village church fete

this afternoon. Rather alarmingly the vicar barely left his stall which featured 'Bishop's Brew.'

"It's really jolly good!" he kept telling everyone, rather like the 1984 ad campaign for Paul Masson Californian Carafes!

I moved at the first of the year, we didnt down size that much but there was still a lot of stuff to get rid of, I got lucky and the person who came in to clean for me, took a lot of stuff to people who were in need.

I so appreciate what you are having to do having just finished moving myself! I so hope you can unload all that you do not want and make a couple of bucks in the process! I hear you loud and clear on the things that can be collected over a ten year period! WE don't realize it until we need to find a place for! Best wishes on down sizing! sam

moving--I dread the day I have to pack up this place!

23 years of accumulation... not just household, but the old costume shop, too...  I feel for you, and hope your sales are booming!

One of the advantages of moving is that you get rid of accumulated junk. A couple of times I've had jumble sales at home and earned a fair amount, which helped with the removal expenses.

Your mention of fêtes took me back to the day (I was 9 at the time) when I won ten shillings at the coconut shy, then squandered the lot trying to win a pound.

Here's hoping the rain stays away the day you actually move; it's so much easier that way.
