Wow
And all I got yesterday, at the hospital, were numerous signs telling us to cut back on salt!

Snow
Salt to kill weeds - now that's one I hadn't heard.  Ummm.... think I'll give that one a try.

Salt/Sugar mixup in applesauce produces chutney
When my now ex-wife, trying to make applesauce, mistakenly added salt rather than sugar to the apples, I was able to rework the concoction as apple chutney and keep from wasting the apples.

On the salt-as-cooking-oil theme, my Mom used to sprinkle salt in a pan before cooking hamburgers.

I'm astonished that salt has so many uses. And reading through this list, I think in future if I'm stumped over any sort of stain removal, I'll try salt first!

You live and learn Nita!
I knew some of it's properties but this is amazing; and one more use that I can't resist saying (for any "supernatural" fans like me) it keeps the demons away Many blessings and thanks for sharing

Wow! From now on I'll have very much more respect for salt! Nita thank you for your kind remarks and support. 'You are the salt of the earth' is an appropriate compliment to thank you for today's post. Keep smiling!
