Once a parent, always a parent. Although my daughter doesn’t live with me (and hasn’t since she was 19), if I haven’t heard from her within a week my mind goes to all those freaky places your mind went to. Sometimes I call her and leave the message “I need to hear your voice”. She know it’s her worrisome mother just wanting to make sure all is well and she’s pretty good about calling back to ease my mind. I think as mothers we think too much or forget what is was like when WE were in our mid 20s.
