I think the words joy and happiness are interchangeably used, but from the
context of what the guest speaker was saying,(and which you have so well put down), it is possible to understand the difference he was making between the two.

I understood what he was saying! It's the special moments that come along that are joyous and when they are added up at the end of the day they provide the happiness! Great post, too! sam
