Pfft!  The sun sucks!  It's friggin' HOT over here.  Give me the rain over there!  I MUCH prefer that!  LOL.

Re: Lion
Thanks Troosha - I have stripey feet, which I look at with vast amusment. I mostly tan by accident, but I do it very well

Re: Sinome
I believe that one has to be genetically predisposed to be particularly susceptable to the big C and so I choose not to worry, but I look at blemishes like I look at wrinkles - trophies of the best of times or marks of hard lessons learn, all worn with pride and a big big smile

I love the last line! What an awesome way to look at it! And, as always, your word choice is so exquisite! sam

Gorgeous tan you have Lion! Upbeat attitude is contagious! Summer will soon be upon us! It is hot and dry here and keeping the plants watered is a daily chore . Freckles are where the sun kisses you!

Ahh, yes, tanning beneath the summer sun.  And you describe it so well (white line inclusive).  I have only of few of those....

Wonderful poem Lion... Its funny but I look at my freckles sometimes (and yes   , also at those awful little round brounish marks that are here and there ...) and as you I imagine  they are  badges of honor  loll...that each represents a laugh or a good time I spent under that sun that back then I thought to be life giving and only later found out was slowly cooking me  .  I see some people my age... that are totally white... no freckles, no spots or specks,  and I got to feel sorry in a way for them... Did they spend their youth under an umbrella????  I guess they look at me and say   "Wow  she is for sure going to get the big C"  But hey... we got to go of something and at least those good times I am taking with me :-) Great poem !
