Actually, I know I'm wrong about this. . , but, I wouldn't want a stranger kissing my children, too. Ummm. ., I don't have children by the way. . ., but, if I did. ., I wouldn't want somebody I didn't know kissing my friggen kids!!!

Yes Manners is one thing
not having to kiss a stranger or even a relative or a family member when one doesn't want to should be a valid option for kids. They should be empowered. I hate the way people think kids have to kiss and cuddle when they may not want to. Good post!

That happened to me a lot when I was a kid..
I can't help it I was so darn cute! 
Anyway, you are right on this one. What a good mom you are :) I still hate it when people I don't know call me honey or sweetie.

Everyone has their own preferences and with strangers I would feel

I agree, but only because of preditors and germs. I am a companion to an Alzheimer's patient two days a week and she commented on a television show where everybody hugged at the end. I thought about who her family is and asked her if she ever got hugs. She said no, and I asked "Not even your little granddaughter?" "No," she said. I started hugging her hello and goodbye from that day on.

I am with you! I couldn't stand it when strangers would grab their hands, ugh, it is the first thing they put in their mouths, those little hands! Kids should never be made to do anything that makes them uncomfortable in regard to your discussion! Cleaning their room is another story, lol!!!!! sam
