I am catching up after a very hectic couple of weeks so first please forgive my tardiness commenting in your blog :-)  I , as Naut, also adore your "silly little stories"  I think you  are very talented Joe.  I wish I could write like you... so easily describing the funniest situations... but alas!  it seems that when I sit to write only corny gook comes out of my brain.   Its as if I even think in poetry terms...   To me poetry is like listening to music... you have to find your nitch.  I just can not believe you don't like poetry... I guess it IS an adquired taste and Gawd knows that some poems I have written do give dentists a run for their money loll, but there are some poets that tug at one's heart with their words.  I don't know if you have but if you haven't you should try reading poets like Byron,  Chauser,  Keats...  and even some here in blogit like Teddypoet,  Lionreign, Troosha, Taps... and so many others!  They might not be as well known YET... but trust me... they are amazing.  You are amazing as well and you should know that it is a pleasure for me and many others to read you.

Your writing is also very engaging.

I can appreciate this very much, since everyone does after all have different interests. I'll definitely check out NiteTide's Short-lived blog. I don't consider myself a poet, but I do enjoy different forms of artistic expression. And I always enjoy reading your stories.

Joe
I absolutely adore your 'silly little stories'! I don't even mind it if they're long...

I'd just like to point out that I write poetry, but there are lot of poetry blogs on here I just can't read. I try, but I just can't. I've always felt hypocritical for that. But you've made a good point, and as someone who only has poetry and journal as their options, I'm probably limiting my audience. Cheers.

Thank you

I appreciate your presents so much.  You are helpful in more ways than I can express.  Your encouragement seems unending.  You need a poem written in YOUR honor.  Like a card.  I agree with your sentiment about poetry.  But alas it was poetry that got me moving in the writing direction.  Or was that a TEACHER who saw in my poetry a little something that needed encouragement?  I wouldn't want to read it either.  One poem occasionally is great.  Maybe every one should have a poem in their blog ---and a play, and a piece of fiction, and a bit of journalism, and LOTS of biography, and...

I also think like elinjo that you provided an objective appraisal

You provide a very useful service on this site; objective appraisal! I'm here because I would like to get some  honest though encouraging feed-back. With regard to poetry; I too am more inclined to read prose. Thank you Joe; I'm very glad that I found your blog!

A very interesting presentation. NiteTide is quite a girl, very creative and full of life. I can understand and appreciate poetry but when it comes to expressing, I am at a loss of words, although whenever I have tried with the puffing effort, things went quite well, but that shaky feeling always kept lurking at the back of my mind.

I wasn't much on reading poetry until I came here. I gained an appreciation for something.

I know what you mean about poetry, I have had a hard time understanding a lot of it and I am not a talent poet but I find I try at it and its fun

I guess poetry is an acquired taste, though I find it hard to believe that
no song has ever stuck in your memory. They are poetry, too.

Look at it this way: at least the lines are shorter, lol.

W-O-W  You do me GREAT honor!  Wow.  My jaw literally fell when I read your post - and I don't do that often, you know - have my jaw just drop while I'm drinking coffee and have loads of it just spill on me.  I don't even know why I clicked on yours today.  I had fully intended to return to my swampish load of work and told myself "One blog.  I'll click on ONE blog for right now - do more than that and I'm done with you forever" (My brain tends to talk to me in 2nd person...) and I went eenie-meenie-miney-moe and BAM!  Your post was up in front of me.  It's like my 6th sense KNEW you were talking about me.  LOL!  Thanks though, you ROCK for being you and being so kind as to enjoy my blog.  But really, I should extend the thanks to my students for providing me with information for such amusing posts.
