Loving Blogit
I just joined Blogit on June 3rd 2009. I too have been looking for online employment and have been scammed by a lot of people on the internet-including google. The "post ads on google" obviously is a complete joke and it's expensive per month to boot. It was easy enough to cancel though (thank God). Blogit to me is no where near a scam, the intro pages etc. made it all very clear you can make money and how but I didn't feel like I was being promised anything out of reach as far as dollars in. I'm enjoying the community here so far, and feel like my posts are not just hanging out in cyberspace anymore. That I'm writing to people who love to blog as much as I do and it feels great!

I don't think blog-it is a scam.  I did a lot of research before I joined and realized I probably would not make much.  After I joined I read about it being a scam, but decided to stay awhile.  Anyway, I like it here right now, enjoy reading others' posts and enjoy writing.

I don't think of it as a scam.  I think of it more as paying to have a good time doing something that interests me.  For instance, I really enjoy reading you.

The friendships I have made on Blogit far out weigh any amount of money I could ever hope to earn anywhere! sam

The first thing you have to do is define scam.  If you know what you are paying for and you are getting it, it isn't a scam.  It is simply a sale.  The grocery store makes a profit on groceries that I buy.  Is that a scam?  If you take your car in for repairs and the work is properly done the mechanic gets paid, the shop makes expenses and its owner makes a living.  Is that a scam?

A scam is where you get less than you paid for and someone takes off with the bucks.  Defining it in detail isn't so simple.  Some people get more than they pay for and still think they are being scammed.  Others get scammed and walk away with a smile on their face because someone flirted with them.

A scam is not easily defined.  You have to come up with your own definition and be sensible in doing so.

shelly_b - I don't know if scam is the right word for this site

It is fair to say however that in the early days, some of the advertising for this site exaggerated realistic earnings potential somewhat.

As for making any from of real money online; that's a tough one. I've investigated a few things we commonly see advertised online, more out of curiosity than anything else but have never found anything that pays consistently. Most things I have tried have produced a woeful hourly rate of pay, far below minimum wage. There have been a few minor successes however, mostly related to ecommerce, with a few bucks made with article writing and affiliate links. Last year for example, I netted about $2,500 from various online efforts which included everything from blogging, articles and website construction to auto downloads of digital products.

Do you have a personal interest, hobby or passion that could be turned into a business effort?

You get exactly what you pay for.....and you earn back exactly what you put in it.   If you just post and expect people in the community to come knocking at your door, good luck.  The key word is's much more of a community, that it is a website to promote one's work.....The only one's who can see it, are you fellow members.

So you either become a part of the community, treat fellow Bolgit-cans with some amount of respect, and participate in the process....or you sour on it and drift away.......kind of a microcosm of life, don't you think?
