Re: I keep saying to myself that I will sell on ebay
if you knew what it would cost to ship before you put the item up for sale, it would be worth it, most of your profits are eaten up by the postage. A simple sweater was over $8 and the cell phone was $8.00 seems like a lot to pay

I keep saying to myself that I will sell on ebay
I'm just afraid I'll mess up or something and get discouraged. And yes, that shipping thing is confusing to me too!

Lustor
Personally, I’ve never tried it but my bother sold many CD’s on Ebay and was quite successful at it. I would imagine you also have to put up with a bunch of nut-cases as well which would frustrate the heck out of me.

Try half.com for selling your used books. You'll be surprised how much money you can get from selling your old books. And people DO use half.com to purchase used books.

I don't eBay at all because I see my eBay Sis spending all her time and effort doing it and I don't want to. She frequents sales, buys bargains that she thinks will sell for more and then the work really starts. To make money, you really have to know your product, inspect it for any flaw, photograph it from every angle, write a description and list the flaws, markings, anything, monitor the bidding, be ready to package appropriately, take it to post office or UPS. She has a whole room set up just for eBaying and everything it involves. Sis loves doing that the way I like blogging here.

I've never done it, so I cannot really say. Perhaps there are alternative websites out there?
