Naut
I came back to read this exceptional post again. You have put all the nastiness into such a neat package. The fascinating thing is how you wrapped it. Your writing is excellent. Thank you for this.

like you, i have also been away for a while and am not very familiar with this particular issue, though i think i have an idea of what and who this might be about. and if i am right, wow, what a lot goes on here!!!

outside of that, i admire the way you say state some very sensitive things with the utmost dignity. you have made some very poignant points here, given a good rap to all involved, been absolutely straightforward and direct and yet, sign off, for the moment, unoffending and at the same time supportive.   friend.

I read this great post once and then again, because I couldn't agree more with what you say. Quite apart from the content I always enjoy your longer and more serious posts because you have a great way of following intellectual issues through. And thanks for your birthday wishes.

Smileycons!  It seems that everything I would have said about this post has already been written in your comments. I do agree with you and enjoyed the well mannered way you conveyed your thoughts.

Man, you can write… and when you set out to make a point, as you have in this blog, you nail it with a hint of humour, resounding dignity, and manners.

I don't like the way some people use name-calling here, but I also like
to practice my right not to click on such individuals...and I think the reason Blogit gets involved is because people probably complain...it's the squeaky wheel syndrome perhaps?Good post.

I'm with you on this one, Naut.
Though inappropriate and aggressive, the comments made by this individual did not appear to be too severe.  That being said, I cannot help but wonder why Blogit stepped into the game.  Could it be that there was more to the story than we were seeing??

...hmmmm ...exactly Naut ... what you said :-)  But I got to say... Nanies were not such a bad thing.  I adored mine and she actually lived with us till she passed... not as an employee but as a second mother and a trusted friend of my mom's...  She taught me a couple of things that have come in very handy later on in life and I had to laugh when you mentioned the soap in the mouth threat because that was a favorite of hers  loll  Good manners are to our interaction with other humans what heat is to a shower... cold water cleans just as well and one might even argue its invigorating just as a good trashy argument is sometimes ... but a warm shower makes taking a bath pleasurable... a hot one is a relaxing and soothing...so do manners make our world smooth and pleasurable. Great post Naut

I agree with you. It took me a while to get to this point I could not deal with people who disagreed with me resorting to calling me names. I do know you do not ridicule believers and I haven't done that aout non-believers. I do put stuff out because I feel life is so much better as a bleiever but I do not think the person is better. This post put so many things into proper perspective.

NAUT- I like your reasoning because I am convinced that best regulation is self-regulation. We should take a cue from the nannies of this world. Kudos!

I think this is a fantastic statement! I think freedom of speech is important to protect! there are ways of dealing with issues, but of late on here it has been the 'nanny syndrome'! Shelly

Interesting post, Nautikos.  It does not bother me in the least that I am currently blocked by one popular blogger and that I have been blocked by others in the past who later became my friends and we communicate by email.  It does not bother me that some bloggers totally ignore me even though I comment now and then on their posts.  I'm sure that I must have offended them at one time or another.  It would, though, bother me to be treated like a naughty child by the Blogit Staff.
