I am astounded
this is absolutely superb!  Your imagery is rich, colourful, cohesive and entirely appropriate; the cadence is sublime - recalling to me ancient poems which filled my youth with light and beauty and the whole was an event to make my day bright!  I take my hat off to you

Amazing poem....

Glide you dryads and elves from the glade

And crown with laurel the joyous in love.

Wing swift fairy choirs; with the harp serenade

The winsome pair wed when cooed the dove.

Bless their vows august; at their union incline

Your noble heads flecked with shafts of sun.

With a gilded thread sew fast and entwine

Their hearts with bliss so grace is won.

I found this poem so deep and mysteriously satisfying, I cannot explain exactly why. I think the idea of dryads an elves attending a marriage ceremony is strange and whimsical. And their 'vows august' blessed, their 'union incline' - then  'noble heads flecked with shafts of sun.' again suggests some deep, dark, mysterious woodland place where these assembled beautiful and unearthly creatures are lit up by the sun streaming in through the trees. Finally, like casting good magic spells, these dryads and elves (and I see faeries peeking through the undergrowth too) "With a gilded thread sew fast and entwine Their hearts with bliss..."    - Just magical...so "grace is won."

It is just such a unique piece of imagery for me, and so economically written! My poems are long rambling affairs. So to me this poem is like a secret, strange and unusual jewel that I found in glittering under a piles of old postcards in an antique shop. So original and mysterious...A Living dance......It makes me think of Shakespeare's descriptions in Midsummer Night's Dream. Quite remarkable. and marvelous....
