Sad for you...
I'm so sorry for your loss. My Dad passed in July 2001. In his final days I told him I'd miss holding his hand and the memory of the strength they represented. It's the only time I saw him cry. He said I warmed the cockles of his heart.
The pain lessens eventually as you feel their spirit around you always. You are strong and will get through this tough time.

I held the hand of my father as we watched TV. But did taping downstairs when he wanted to watch the Kris Kristoffersen movie on the night when he suffered his master stroke. He passed away a year later on Ground Hog Day. There’s the shadow of a different color that fell on his casket after the flowers in the funeral home. In a way mine did receive the pastel and scent.
