Ah, the joys of parenting! I think it is good that he has an understanding but your own tears were precious too! It is a building block and all will be fine! I'm not so sure that you should feel like a raging lunatic of a mother...I just think, because your sweet boy is sensitive, and that means he's sensitive to your moods, probably felt bad for throwing a "tantrum" of sorts and wanted to make it up to you - not to just say sorry because you got upset over anything, but to make himself feel a bit better for trying to fix a situation that he knows he can fix. He might have not been able to figure out the jelly car situation, but I'm sure he knew how to fix the fissure between him and you. And he did.  He sounds like a darling.
