Re: Re: sorry -- the word hell does appear there

here is the purpose of the flames

1Cr 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

to save a person, not to punish.

Re: sorry -- the word hell does appear there
And in addition to the comment I just posted to you, the rich man said "I AM TORMENTED IN THESE FLAMES!" AKA LAKE OF FIRE XENO.

Re: Ah! Laxarus and the Rich man.
Hell is not "assumed" here, it is discerned...a huge difference xeno.

sorry -- the word hell does appear there
Hades --- the grave.

1) name Hades or Pluto, the god of the lower regions

2) Orcus, the nether world, the realm of the dead

3) later use of this word: the grave, death, hell

I hope you notice the Greco-Roman mythological root here.

Ah! Laxarus and the Rich man.
a parable

Lazarus = Eliezer, Abraham's servant, left out of the promises.

The Rich Man = the Jews -- those who thought they were spiritually rich.

They discovered differently.

But there is only mention of torment -- and fire (see THE ECCLESIASTE for my latest discourse on this) -- but no Hell -- the word does not appear in Luke 16.  It is just assumed.

Hell is a medieval concoction -- created out of Greek mythology.
