I guess it's all a matter of perspective......
and what one believe torture is........I hardly find an act we use on many of our own troops in training them to be prepared for capture, to fall in that class........

If someone is going to blow up a nuke in one of our cities and we have a guy in custody that knows all about it.....Hell yes, bring on Jack Bauer!

God promised if we wanted wisdom we should pray for it and He would give it liberally. I think some and particularly me are forgetting to pray for that particular thing during prayer time. Thank you for reading me.

Education
Scary, isn't it, that so many people are using their education solely as a means to seek wealth (or at least a comfortable living), as opposed to getting a better insight on what's really happening...Maybe wisdom just takes much longer.

Certainly you state valid issues to feel hot about. John Lennon once sang: You know we all want to change the world. :BCA, Bill:J ROOST

The same is about to happen to us. There were doctors on sight for these men, they were not going to be killed they were frightened. To be a terrorist is the most egregious sort of crime they kill their own, age, innocence, or sex is not a deterrent. These people who perform terrorist acts are different that all other civilization.

Law in ancient Rome permitted the torture of an accused suspect but banned the torture of witnesses. Where a witness, freeman, or slave was believed to have committed treason, however, he could be legally tortured. Torture was frequently inflicted even on freemen to obtain evidence of the crime of laesa majestas (“injured majesty,” or crime against a sovereign power). Rome’s use of red-hot irons and lacerating hooks is well-known. The statesman Cicero and other enlightened Romans condemned the use of torture.

Bible Thumper
Nothing that resembles what the terrorists would use on one of us. They have proven that fact over and over. God bless you.

Justi, I'm not sure but what methods used in.....
interrogation of terrorists falls under the category of torture. I don't hear any hollering about tactics being used by interrogators on suspects of crime here in the states.  I don't know all the methods used at Gitmo but I believe that John McCain could tell us about real torture. Patronizing our enemies is bad business. Tough times call for tough measures. Thanks!

TAPS:

I understand about His peace; however He is giving that to the believers. I do not want another act like the twin towers to occur where many who may not be believers are at risk of their lives and they maybe would have been.

But I do understand and appreciate what you are saying; however i disagree with it. I am thankful that we can do that and not toss either away. :)

If I am unwise on the subject of torture, so be it.  If it takes torture of enemies to be wise, I will remain unwise.  If because of my failure to torture someone the world is destroyed, so be it.  In that case, I think I'd rather not be here anyway.   "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:  not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." ~Jesus
