Here in Quebec one must have an ear/mouth piece to use a cell phone. If caught with the phone in your hand while driving, you receive a heavy fine and can even have your phone confiscated. As in speeding, not everyone obeys the law, but I'm sure there are less accidents since the new law has been enforced.

Corbin Dallas,
You have raised a very grave issue and it should get maximum attention. Not because I am some clueless or hapless bystander. My concern is because I too have found myself texting or answering my phone while driving. I am a not a teenager, but a person who should be more responsible. How do we get to there from here. It is not enough to punish others after the fact, the damage cannot be reversed. Technology is serious and we must get serious about both its allure and temptations equally with its potential for abuse.

This is right on
I cannot understand anyone not having the knowledge that you can't text and drive!

You are absolutely right!
There should be as stiff of penalties for texting & driving as drinking & driving. Both can cause a deadly crash.  Have a good day Corbin!
