Death, grief, sorrow and murder are what sells. People thrive on the suffering of others, why do you think "reality" shows do so well?

Re: gapcohen
Hi Mal! I got my info from an unconfirmed source on the radio yesterday. This was never a threat to be a pandemic or will it ever be. Fear sells, and also makes people watch, good for ratings. The fear mongers love to keep our attention riveted on the negative.

Muley - Where did you get your Swine Flu death update? From what I can tell; the WHO has 615 confirmed-in-lab cases with only 10 deaths attributed directly to swine flu (the rest could be from other underlying conditions). As you said - there are far more deaths from the "regular" flu that we tend to just brush off (and hope we don't get) every year, and that kills 250,000 - 500,000 people worldwide each year. I think the WHO and CDC are trigger happy, but ironically, perhaps calling this a "pandemic" will set things in motion to actually PREVENT one! Mal

I only believe what my own common sense tells me to - as my grandma always said to me: 'If your entire class jumps off the bridge into the Schelde, will you follow?' - to which I used to answer 'No!'.

My sister lives in Guadalajara, Mexico and she is not freaked.........
but everyone was trying to make her so. She kept googling it all, the news updates, true news updates and then visiting sites on the flus and medications, etc............
I am so grateful to have thrown my t.v. away last year. Throw yours away, too. K?

My Mother is driving me nuts about it. She has had a cough off and on
for awhile now, so... "Maybe, I have it"...
"Mom, no you don't, I have had that cough for as long as you"
"Maybe we both have it."
"No, Mom, we don't have it"
"How do you know?"
"We don't have it, Mom."
