I, too, am not optimistic.
Being that the US absolutely refuses to acknowledge that we are a participant in a holy war, I don't know how we could possibly stand a chance of "altering" beliefs. Instead, our liberal government bends over backwards to respect the religion.

Thanks for once again brightening the light on this topic
that for reasons you've mentioned, which might be summarized as a cultural disconnect, tends to bring many of us into a state of uncertainty, confusion and futility.
The conversation won't end until some resolution is made. Not just this immediate discussion, but of the whole dilemma, of what changes are called for in both the dominant cultures of the topic: Western and Islamist, and in the rest of the world that is also part of whatever happens--and how these changes can be brought about.

Profound series, Naut, your efforts are much appreciated!
I urge you to remain optimistic, even when some may call it naive, as I firmly believe in the collective power of humanity, especially as the successive generations wisen up from past mistakes, to move themselves towards a generally acceptable compromise, best wishes, Ash

This series was amazing and comprehensive... Entertaining and all encompassing , it showed all sides of the conflict at hand with justice and a great deal of impartiality and though your strong beliefs were apparent you did not judge but rather exposed us to the truth as you saw it. Great work my friend and I for one thank you for your efforts. Though I did not comment often ,for I was not knowledgeable on the subjects you spoke of, I did read you faithfully and learned lots by doing so. You should compile all you wrote and expand it into a book... Excellent work Naut.
