Thanks for this interesting post which indeed I had to read twice. However, there are clear signs of recovery. The London Stock Exchange closed this week on the highest turnover in six years. Markets are, as you well know, never about reality but all about hype and rumours. I bet on that note alone, the shares will be up again on Monday or so poor vogue, who has invested a good chunk of money there and lost heavily over the last year) hopes. Meanwhile, every blogit penny counts.

Naut
I remember when the stock market rose to over 13,000......people still held on to their money. I am not sure that is a good gauge. As I stated in a post by Taps, here in Colorado, the unemployment rate is at 8.1% but this same time in the early 1993 the unemployment rate here was 13.8%. Go figure

Somehow, I'm not surprised.    It takes a worried man to sing a worried song...
Friend from Phoenix Moon Valley
just emailed me that the employees at his work site last week went out on strike. They've lost their retirement and now the company is cutting salaries. Of course, there are plenty of unemployed who will be willing to work for the reduced salaries, so the strike probably won't help them.  He says it looks like he's going to have to walk away from the mortgages on his house in Moon Valley and his three rentals in Mexico (which have been empty for months now). Citibank has raised his credit card interest rate to 23 per cent and he's lost most of his 401k.

I asked where he and his wife and two little doggies will go and he says he has Phoenix relatives he thinks will take them in.  Can you imagine how many more tales there are like this one?
