Re: The evolution of the camera is amazing itself.
I remember when Texas Instruments came out with the first LED watch. I begged for one and finally got one for my birthday, it did not last long

Timmy

Great topic!  Joe asked if anyone remembered shorthand.....I learned shorthand to be eligible for what all women of my generation were counseled to be prepared for, regardless of their college major - a job as a secretary.  That was the entry level position for 9 out of 10 college educated women.  I have maintained the basics of shorthand all my life....for some twisted reason I could never explain.  So, yes, Joe....here is one who can still take whatever you need to dictate!

The Lone Ranger, Hoppalong Cassidy (sp?), Sky King, Howdy Doody, the original Mouseketeers.....I wouldn't trade growing up in the era I was born to for anything on earth!  I got to be a flower child and a corporate lady....variety has certainly been the spice in my life!

Thanks, Timmy. Now I feel old.
Though I don't remember the horse and buggy, I do remember the tin encased TV dinners. I also had a B&W tv in my bedroom. We didn't get cable until, well, long after many cause we were kinda poor at the time. I also remember Atari games like Pong and Breakout. I rocked at breakout!

The evolution of the camera is amazing itself.
Tazors (however that is spelled).  The evolution of typewriters.  Does anybody still know the art of shorthand??  Thought-provoking topic, Timmy.

As a kid, regularly winding the alarm clock...
at night to wake up at 5:00 am and study Sanskrit. Now I wake up at 8:00 am to my favorite cd and write poetry. Have I progressed :)? - Ash

I can remember "Have Gun, Will Travel"

Excellent topic for a blog! I remember my mother counting the sacks of anthracite that were delivered at our house - we had coal fires and a boiler. A bus ride through London and seeing the bombed out ruins on both sides of the road. The victory party in our street. Eating my first banana and hating the taste, even though my mother had stood in line for ages to buy it for me. I could go on and on.....
