Carbs are definitely important. I've never really seen anyone to benefit long term from the Atkins diet.

Carbs transmute into sugar...no good for you. They are invariably acidic and reduce the ph of the body from the preferred 7.3. That's not good either. Yet, you must have carbs otherwise your blood sugar level will be too low!

Awesome Rolldawg! I just started counting calories yesterday, so it was kind of crazy that you posted this! I made up a chart, and I'm recording how many cals, grams of fat, sodium, and sugar. I also have columns to check what food group each thing is, and about how much of each. Pretty much everything is approximate, but I've gotten a rough idea of what I'm overdoing and what I'm skimping on. I need to get more whole grains in my diet and cut out some sugar!
