hazel_st_cricket - There are pros and cons to an eBay store
The fees can be a killer for small operations and a consideration that few people think about is that goodwill, or "sweat equity" cannot be realized from an eBay store. Simply because the store cannot be severed from the seller account therefore cannot be sold to a third party. An eBay store does admittedly expose the seller's goods to a market that they could not otherwise advertise to with such efficiency but I feel if people are in it for the long haul, an off eBay store is a better way to go. For much of the time that I was the king of junk, I ran my own online store and linked to my eBay account on it continuosly. I also used my eBay credentials to great effect simply by providing a link HERE

Hi, gomedome. I have bought and sold on ebay in the past, as well. Do you find it more profitable to have a "store" on ebay? Aren't the fees much higher? Sorry, if the question seems stupid. lol

I will certainly be harassing you if I start an online store.  You seem to know quite a bit about it all!

Or nearly free . . . . I started on eBay 7 years ago, that market taught me a lot about online selling. I've also had some failures along the way. All of these experiences have made me much wiser in this field. I actually sell two online stores: HERE is a higher end store with full support which I resell for a comission. HERE is how my lower end product is being released.

lol, excuse the typos. I'm notorious for them. Not something one would want on their store front I'm sure..lol
