Any minute now... any minute...
Even with the chill in the Maryland air where I have the good fortune to be this week, there is sunshine--and after another Seattle area winter, I am quite ready for it.

You are right! Nature is one mean MOTHER*&%#%!
Strat,
Nature does seem to be quoting those delightful crazies, "Monty Python's Flying Circus. "And now for something COMPLETELY different!" As winter winds howl, and the snow piles up into drifts you can't see over or through, it seems as though warm weather and flowers and the antics of the next year's innocent young next generation is only an empty promise like religion, or a man-made wishful thinking rumor, like religion. Finally, spring slowly erodes the drifts and everything turns to mud. Then, for another four or six months, the sky pisses on us seemingly every day, tornados and floods take over, and we almost wish we could go back to winter! Almost. I don't envy you the height of southern summer, when you guys will be sweating rivulets of GREASE, though! Completely DIFFERENT, indeed! And so it goes, endlessly.

Constant rain does put a grey on one's life. ugh. It is funny to watch animals with soring fever.

I think the geese around here are either on some kind of drug, or else they need to be. I love the other birds no matter what the weather.
