I have given up reading newspapers (except for the sports section) and watching news - they are the #1 'causers' of depression!

I just get my news
Off the yahoo home page typically, then you have a choice how much or little you have to see and hear. It's a little more optimistic perpective than the actual news on TV, too, so I hear about good things in almost equal proportion to the world's tragedies :)

I have made great strides in NOT watching. it is way too depressing.
Anything to do with babies getting murdered or abused upsets me to the point of craziness. i don't watch much any more, but my Mother loves to inform me of all the gloom and doom...ugh.

TIMMY, not unless I know its a newscast that goes out of its way to share
a positive news item (or more) to at least try to balance some of the negative...one station did just that about a week ago and they were flooded with "good news"....(it was on the internet, but I forget whether it was MSN or Yahoo.

Re: Oh yes I love to get all depressed and miserable. I love watching my stock
We're all in the same boat Kabu

. Part of my pension comes from the UK and in the last year it has dropped by over 30% due to the weak state of the pound sterling. I'm a masochist too; can't resist watching the news. Take care!
