Have a safe one
For me, I'd rather travel by coach or train than a plane, but it's not always possible. Not that am afraid of heights, but I take more comfort in travelling by train/coach despite the longer hours - but at least you avoid all the airport hassles!

Travelling by coach is usually very comfortable; though I have yet to try it in Turkey. I hope you enjoyed the trip.

Geeez  when you wrote "coach" my mind went to horses  loll  and I could imagine you sitting for 12 hours in a horse drawn wagon,  galloping through the roads of Turkey  loll  I was thinking to myself " poor Vogue... no wonder she is aprehensive "  but then I remember coaches are busses  loll... It will be fun, I am sure, you will meet amazing characters and have material to write a bunch of your interesting articles... Have a great time my friend and don't worry no one will for get you... you are not that easy to put out of mind  :-) xoxo

I look forward to hearing your take on Istanbul.  I'd love to go someday.  We used to drive 15 hours from NY to Nashville with two screaming babies in the back seat - so just think - it could be worse!  And it never turned me off to long trips.  Here, when we say we have "fever" as in "Spring Fever" - it's a good thing.  I hope yours turns from trepidation to anticipation!  Mal

is try and sleep...it makes the time go so much quicker..
