Re: Neither an individual, a nation, nor a civilization...
Chuck, I agree to a degree... It is the Christian precept of turning the other cheek augmented by the egalitarian notion of every individual as significant (that arose out of the same thinking that gave rise to the Magna Carta); the ideals of a democratic society in which all participants are considered by law to be equal; Ideas of civilized society, as opposed, quite literally, to those of a tribal society.
But we are not done yet.

Neither an individual, a nation, nor a civilization...
...can accomodate everyone. And it's been to America's ultimate demise that she has tried on such a massive scale...harboring those with
ill will, in the hopes of fostering
good will.
And other Western nations have followed suit.
And the low birth-rates of Westerners, compared to the rest of the world, will prove to be a significant factor in the collapse of the West, when future archaelogists sift through the rubble of our soon to be
past civilization.

Well expressed questions. None of us would probably care much for the answers to those questions, but sooner or later, they will be necessary (perhaps even too late).

Very important questions. In my next installment in that series, I shall have not
the answer, but maybe the beginning of an answer...and I am also beginning to realize that what I thought I could finish in the next post will probably require several more...

A truely interesting post with a lot to think about. Thanks very much for your comment. I think you are right, but I prefer to err on the cautious side. I will still post my pictures here first, then, when I write the article and use them I'll delete the pictures here, in the hope that my loyal blogitfriends will have seen them.
