Comments don't determine popularity...
...it's how many people view your blog.

I have only been doing blog-it for a week, and am really enjoying it. Hopefully it will help me be a better writer. I like reading the other posts too!

You're right. Two isn't an option. When I last re-upped I believe it was either 1, 3, or five blogs. That may be something for Blogit to consider.

Blogit to say the least is an interesting animal.
The only people that see what you write are the people here on blogit, not like some blogging sites.
My feelings about blogit are, sometimes i need to write my thoughts and let someone see them and maybe give me some feedback. Its my therapy.
Others feelings that they write here on blogit are just as important as mine, it doesn't matter if they are no. 1 or no. 25, a number does not make me a better writer or mean that my thoughts are better than anyone elses. Being competitive is fine, but i don't see blogit as a contest or game.

I agree with you. The blogit rating doesn't make much sense. As fo working more and blogging less, I explained my reason in my last post, which you so kindly commented on. But even so, it leaves a lot of margin for other things to write about which don't get turned into a commecial enterprise. Blogit is like family to me.

When someone comments on my blog I feel encouraged, but not everybody has got the time to both read and comment. Naturally making the effort to comment on other peoples's blogs means that you are more likely to make friends on Blogit, I suppose. Thanks for your visit yesterday. when I came home last night I found that my internet connection had taken the day off so I could not visit at all.

I am just not very competitive, except with Wiley of course.
we like to beat each other but I read my friends and write for them and I like it when new people come along and enjoy me or write for my pleasure. Wiley and I are not big social people. This gives us family and friends. We love to share here at blogit most evenings.

Re: Soul_Builder101
You can call it politics, affinities, loyalties, clubs, cliques....it is happening. Some who click a lot get disillusioned and stop or slow down. Having too many blogs to manage effectively is a problem too. It is better to have only one blog with your full attention on it. That way you can do research to back up your convictions or to explore new topics. The end result is a blog that is interesting. Of course, interesting means different things to different people. The road to happiness has many false trails. Know thyself is the only road that takes you there!

I certainly think people are working more has to do with it. I imagine too that some are cutting costs and have now decided Blogit is expendable.

You need to post TWICE a day Lustor! That way you can double up on your unique clicks. Read a lot too! I am here today then gone for a week or two. That's my approach. It depends on need for a change! Breaks are very therapeutic...it allows you to reset yourself. Clicks don't really matter....it is people seriously reading your writing that counts. Unfortunately one is tied up to the other. Such that cliques and clubs are assured of high ranks regardless of what is written or how many blogs are read. We await a better evaluation of writing skills.

One unique click per entry! Comments are just one facet of it! It is nice to get comments but it is the individual click that matters for the so called popularity rank! sam

I think the more one reads the more they are apt to get a return read! I think the rating is about return reads only! People have to be reading for you to move up, but they may not necessarily be leaving a comment! Blogit goes in streaks too! sam

You raise some interesting issues. Rating is very important if you are a serious writer. It shows where you stand in your peer group. I empathise with your feelings. But may I add that rating is not all important. If you are satisfied with your blog quality, you need not fret much. There are times when my post doest not attract any reader. It could be for any reason. Why waste your energies trying to sort it out. The good thing about blogs is that it is archived. You never know, tomorrow a reader might post a comment on the blog which went unnoticed earlier! This has happened to me and I've been pleasantly surprised. Let's stay positive because it is the only sensible thing to do.
