Your are definitely not a mistake! God saw you before you were even born. If you have a Bible read Psalm 139. That is how God feels about you. You are very precious to him.

If this is autobiographical,
you have my heartfelt sympathy. It is a hard thing growing up in the enemy camp.
It is a hard thing to be hard-wired to love and need someone--a parent, for instance--who is constitutionally incapable of loving, unresponsive to needing.
It takes years and help to sort out the issues, before it is safe or possible to recognize and enjoy wholesome love, and few of us have that kind of strength or ability to starve until healthy food comes along: we will devour anything, even what is toxic and breaks our teeth, just because it comes in a package that looks to our damaged vision like the real thing.
