I haven't any good sleep ideas. I have real sleeping problems with fibromyalgia. I can sleep for days with only going to the bathroom and eating, then the episode turns and I am awake for a long time. But the idea of hearing everything, I did that too after my first child was born I never again slept soundly. I could hear them begin to quietly rouse before waking in the night. That is mama sleep. Love having you back.

Hi Symph!
I'm a light sleeper but my husband can fall asleep in about 20 seconds and could sleep through a train pummeling through the living room. Must be nice.

I know how you feel...it's so irritating and frustrating! I usually will get up to write if I can't sleep. Most of the time it's because my mind won't shut up lol. If that doesn't work, I'll read or listen to music until I crash.

Chamomile (and other herbal) teas help....you could also try meditation and visualisation. There are a couple of very effective yoga techniques too.

It's so frustrating right Symph?
My husband falls asleep the second he hits the pillow...wherever he is. Not me! Although if I read before I turn the lights off then I can usually fall asleep fairly easily.

Re: I vary, although I tend toward the Chamomile teas
I swear by camomile tea too. At present I get enough sleep, but have periods of insomnia. Some years ago I got into the very bad habit of taking sleeping pills; but luckily I'm over that. Too much computer activity stops me getting enough sleep; so I try to turn it off an hour or so before bedtime.

I vary, although I tend toward the Chamomile teas
when sleep is a challenge. That often happens in times of stress or change for me

I fall asleep immediately and deeply! It is not a good idea to wake me up I am so deep in sleep! I can be grouchy! I do remember when my kids were home not sleeping all that deep though! I think it is instinct, the nurturing effect that holds moms in check! lol sam

I can understand the frustration people feel who have trouble
falling asleep; I am quite lucky because no matter how many thoughts are swirling in my head the most I have to do is put on a feng shui CD and I have yet to stay awake long enough to hear the 2nd half! Many blessings and thanks
