Such a great Post!!

I love watching my kid play too. I want to encourage his play and use of gentle language. There is so much roughness in the world today and we have become so coarse and uncouth in our social ways.

My early childhood was free of T.V and the like............................
and I grew up deep in the imaginary, the only blessing of an otherwise difficult childhood. Hello my friend, it is good to read you again.

so true...I remember always wishing that my parents would do more with my sisters and I instead of just sending us outside to play together.  Your children are very lucky!!

You are absolutely right. Your children are very lucky to have you as a mum.

Excellent post my dear Symphony!!
Full marks and I am in absolute agreement; many parents who think they are too busy to make the time that is necessary in children's growth look to all these convenience gadgets too easily; it takes an enormous effort to make this time believe me I know, but as a single full time working mother to 2 boys who are now strapping young men I thank God that I made that effort; many blessings and thanks

Symphony, you are right on track and way ahead of the game! You are an excellent mom! The freedom you give and encourage only happens with the best of moms! KUDOS! I agree, they have to get messy! I remember when my kids came home from the creek, dirty! But their fondest memories come from the dirt i.e. messes! lol sam

Symphony
The last line said a lot to me. Think you cannot be creative unless you get messy, right?

those young years with your children are just so important and they go so
fast. Why even my Grandchildren are growing up now.

The problem with electronic toys...
...is that they take the place of imagination, instead of exercising it.
Not to mention the physical laziness and obesity it enables.

when I was a kid it was hopstoch, marbles, yooyoo, do they still have those kind of games?  I dont think I ever played much with my kids, for some reason its hard for me to get to their level.

I agree. Technology has made mankind lazy and removed from normal interaction.
