The question comes down to this:
What do you suggest be done about it?
What do you think Western governments can do about it?
The notion of a "just war" is a harder and harder sell, but is it the answer?
Or is it possible that a new idea/ideal of Islam could emerge from the essentially tribal religion--an updating, modernizing, more civilized ideal that preserves the essential spiritual truths of Islam, and releases the old concepts of faith or death?
I wonder if there are not well-educated, modern Islamists who have found for themselves such a transcendant kind of faith, like Catholics who have moved their thought and faith beyond the limits imposed by the Roman Catholic Church.

metal has worded my thoughts in the cleanest way possible- way beyond my capabilites and, frankly, even intent.
i see this topic of visitor-takes-over-home, coming up time and time again in india. the indian ethos of unquestioned hospitality and tolerance won them the curse of colonialism and now terrorism. ancient, startlingly organised and forward civilisations and industry were destroyed by greedy external forces then and in the garb of pluralism and secularism, so much evil runs its time now. India keeps dipping in and out of the consequences of its constitution and now the west is seeing why- we are going through exactly the same.
we didn't think anything of our perpetrations then. but now, it is time we gave thought to India's situation - to learn from the error of their wide open door policy.

I appreciate all your work on this project. I have read but not commented. It is clear what is happening and has been for such a long time. Few wanted to touch it and still do not want to voice even an opinion, so I appreciate what you have done. This has been a major work.

The fall of civilizations begins within its borders.
And the tacit accomodating of our enemies in recent decades in the name of pluralism and tolerance is a frightenening development.

Nautikos, it seems that there are plenty of good books, articles, commentators on this subject, but it would also seem that not many are paying attention or interested in learning about this. Is it because they don't know what to do about it and think if they ignore it that it will go away? It's not going to go away!

I've now caught up with this entire series and it is completely mind boggling.....how DO you keep all of this in your head and manage to spit it out for us so clearly and....well, I could go on but I don't want you to get big headed

.....thank you. I have done a copy/paste of the whole series now to take for my mother to read as she convalesces.....she has kept up with these happenings over the years and I am sure she will be quite interested in your take. Please keep up the good fight, regardless of the number of readers....you never know the seeds you sow.
