My mom's nickname for me used to be Double Wick (for burning the candle at both ends). I would leave work at 5, stay out til 2 or 3, sleep, wake up at 6 and repeat. I could do that for 4 or 5 days in a row before exhaustion finally took its toll.
There is nothing I've written that I haven't articulated to Spenser one way or another, however, blogging in "secrecy" from people in my real life affords me the freedom to be more honest with my words and not have to worry about offending anyone or hurting their feelings.

Maybe you can function on little sleep. Back in the day, three or four hours was all I needed. Now, with middle age creeping up on me (if it isn't already here), I've had to up it to five or so.
My wife knows about my blog here, but she's not really interested. Years ago, she read everything, but once she realized this wasn't some online meatmarket, she moved on to her own things. I don't advertise what I write, I make sure I put a positive spin on things, but honestly, I'm glad she doesn't read it. My time here is mine and mine alone and I selfishly guard it. I don't tiptoe around her. (She's in the other room as I write this.) It's there if she wants to read it, but I try not to give her a reason.
