Another thing that some can't understand is how something so important to them can be meaningless to someone else.

It's really simple and only natural when we consider where they're coming from. When one is completely convinced their way is not only the right way, but the only legitimate way, preaching, saving souls, comes easy.

yeah well some people think your spiritual beliefs
are their business and hell had no greater fury than a bible bashing missionary scorned.

"Freedom of religion" is just one of the myths we live by.
Most don't believe that "freedom of" includes freedom from. Funny (weird, not ha-ha) how relative strangers think they have a right to correct my thinking on religious matters.

I've met others like her who believe they have everything all figured out, that they and those who think as they do are the centers of the universe. It is often quite sad, but it can also be humorous to watch them grapple with a topic outside their "norm."

Attending church is a social activity and alas, that means some of the less than noble aspects of peoples' interactions will creep in.

Initially she hoped to recruit me. We all know some churches don't want just anybody to attend. In a strange way, that's a compliment, however it all went downhill when she discovered how I felt about religion.

She must have a very narrow view of the world
that never questions the borders of it, never allows that anything outside her borders has any significance.  So sure of what's right, what's wrong.  Poor thing...

that is something my mom would say, she always told me my life would turn around if I went to church, why, so I can sit next to someone who is there to see the newest fashions

How rude of this person to try to tell you what is right and wrong.
I do not attend church, very rarely, and no one will tell me I need to go..ugh. The nerve of some people.
