I got soap in my mouth because my mom thought I was lying (I wasn't, but I certainly didn't lie to her after that!), but I never heard of doing it because a kid talked too much!

I used to get in trouble for that, too, occassionally. It was because I was
an only child and didn't have anybody to talk to at home with parents that worked....But I learned to keep still....
