I remember the old Abbott & Costello scene when their landlord script writer Sydney Fields calls Costello up the front scoop. He and Abbott are packing the car trunk for their vacation. When Costello reaches the top Fields says, “Have fun!” “I love you” at home sounds better lo

Re: MomentsinTime
Yes, I agree with you. There are some people that find it very difficult to express their feelings with words, but that does not mean that they do not have feelings.

Parents have to balance their act when dealing with children- neither too soft, nor too harsh.

MomentsinTime
Not long after our mother died a couple years ago, my younger brother called me. He had us on speaker and his wife was present. Ususally this situation means they were in the middle of a disagreement of some factual type and my job was to settle it. This time was no exception. My brother asked me had out mother ever told me she love me. I answered immediately. No. It sounds horrible, but that conclusion is the farthest thing from the truth. We knew our mother loved us, not simply because she was our mother, but because she proved it, every single day of our lives.
Saying I love you is truly daily wonderful, but
showing it daily is the thing that lasts forever. You've already come to the conclusion that's the true legacy.
