I refuse to accept the notion that the American Dream has turned into a nightmare. I think its us the Americans that have gone soft...spoiled by easy cash lent to us and irresponsible. We have to own up to our mistakes and go on from there. Our parents and grandparents knew what it was to fail and start over... well we are not better than them. If we have failed we must get up, dust ourselves off and go on living our dreams... yes it is harder and perhaps it seems impossible but it isn't. They did it and we can do it. We just have to remember that we have to help each other and not be too proud to ask if we need that help. Great post Lustor!

Interesting you bring up this subject LustorLove.

I had to rethink a short trip I was going to take out of town and have postponed it. Planning.... is more responsible, and my spontaneity needs to take a back seat .

Aflluence has a pitfall hidden within it...
...namely the spoiling effect it has on the population, which helped bring us to this mess.
Not to mention the greediness of the bankers who started lending money to bad credit risks.

I've managed to avoid most of the $$$ pitfalls. My family has often asked me why we don't get a bigger house......we could sure use one w/ 6 kids (3 his/ 3 mine). I just holler out my mortgage numbers (payment) and tell them to shut their pie holes. LOL
