I too raised my kids. It was a long time before they were introduced to anyone.

Re: TimmyTales
Justi, You are right, it has become too easy to get a divorce in this country.

Re: Timmy
I'm not sure healthy is the right word. Not where children are concerned. I mean, what are we teaching them?

Very strange indeed! I divorced and raised my kids myself and did not date until they were grown! It was the least I could do to alleviate the confusion! sam

You know I have an opinion on most things if they are not my business. I consider the moral fiber of this country is everybody's business. The idea of living like that is horrific. It would behoove all parties to come together if at all possible. Unless there is physical or verbal abuse I believe all couples can make it. The idea that people get divorces because they fall out of love is ridicules. We have no backbones anymore. That is child abuse.

How about the wife who moved in next-door with the man whose wife had left him.  She left her kids with their father, but they were to come visit her every day whenever they were home from school until their father got home from work.  I don't know if the kids were confused, but I sure was, not that it was any of my business.

I know a couple who did this for years – not the same house but they would rent a house that had an upstairs and downstairs apartment and their daughter would simply go up and down.  I think as long as there’s no animosity (and you’re not introducing the child/children to too many boyfriends or girlfriends), it can be a very healthy arrangement.
