Long months gone

The villagers gathered in the clearing to meet the elders

a meeting of the old and wise around the funeral pyre,

long months gone and ashes blown away

why where they here and what did they have to say?

The Wolf stood proudly on the edge of the forest, to see

Frog would not come, his spirit wounded by a Spider in retreat,

in a dark and damp place he called subliminal defeat.

The elders settled and began a fire, a feast away from the pyre

deciding on the fate of Frog, his friends and those that admire

a little Green gem in this forest of brine, darkness and myth.

For in the song of all things good, they knew he was hiding in the wood

the trees did tell the tale of old, his heart was made of gold.

Find the Spider the villagers said, and beckoned the wolf to see

they wanted this friendship to go on, so also fetch the bees.

Their demands were met and they gathered again, to be,

to tell the story, to search the woods, the sky and the sea.

How Sad

How sad the spider must decline

the fresh advances of mine

to remain good friends is life's big prize

no matter what the size.

Wander in the woods and tug the lead

I let go for you to wander and jump at speed.

So spend a moment and rest i said

and let the sunshine clear your head.

When it clears you will return

because the Frog he does not burn

and although you want him dead

that is not what the villagers said.
