I hate the way politics work, it might be better if we
just could not see the president and he could run the
country from afar. The popularity thing is too much.

Oh how true this is. We thought we could be anything we wanted if we were honest, hard working and kept going. Today those things are not popular! Good post.

Willingness to be a loyal puppet is what it is about. That's where Ron Paul failed!

Neither were Clinton and Obama born poor...
...no amount of charisma and hard work can catapult the children of plumbers and cab drivers into the Presidency in an Aristocracy of Wealth.
When it comes to everyone being
born equal, there's a saying..."Some people are more equal than others."

You are right in the fact that they were not born into money. But it takes a lot of money to become President. And yes, I agree, who would want the job?

Neither Clinton nor Obama were born into wealthy, prestigious families and they made it. Clinton married well and yes, Obama is a millionaire, but he earned that money through the royalties from the best-selling books he wrote, so you're right about having to be of the proper social standing. Of course, Clinton and Obama's charisma and personal magnetism are off the charts and they were smart enough to attend and excel at some of the "best" schools, so they would've been successful and subsequently wealthy anyway. What I don't understand is why anyone would
want to be president. Being on the city council or even a mayor is too much of a headache for me. There's no way I'd want to occupy the Oval Office.
