If only I could be so lucky. Once I made the mistake of hitting the bullseye, now every shot must hit the mark as well.

Occasionally we regret we don't have kids, but once we think about the numerous realities of parenting, we quickly change our tunes.

Thanks. The gift search went well. I'll write about it some time this week.

I considered the massage thing. My brother and his wife get them all the time and constantly sing their praises.

It is far better to have to negotiate the crowds at the malls than not to have anyone to negotiate for at all.

My wife gave up on me as shopping-disabled years ago.  She gives hints, in the form of shopping lists, complete with sizes and colors and store addresses.  I got her a pajamagram, with a heart-shaped box of chocolates.  It seems I did all right.

When I had a husband, and responsibility for all the meal prep,
it was a real treat to be taken out to a nice meal, with the darling adorable kids stashed at grandma's. How nice it was to eat a meal as it was served and not have to stop to cut up someone's meat or mop up a spill or settle an argument.

LOL. You have summed it up quite well here. I usually get something like a certificate for a massage, or a facial or pedicure/manicure. Seems to be a hit. I wish you well.
